Abstract
Hazrat Bibi Hakimeh (peace be upon her), daughter of Imam Musa Kazim (peace be upon him), sister of Imam Reza and aunt of Imam Javad (peace be upon them), is an influential yet lesser-known figure in the history of Shia Islam. She accompanied the Bani Hashem caravan into south-west Iran during the period of Imam Reza's (peace be upon him) succession and the arrival of the Imamzadehs in Iran. Despite several centuries passing since her arrival and subsequent martyrdom in the region, her personal attributes, virtues, and role in the history of Imamate have not been thoroughly explored. This article, using a descriptive-analytical method and based on historical and hadith sources, examines various aspects of her life, virtues, and her contributions.Findings indicate that Bibi Hakimeh (peace be upon her), alongside Lady Masoumeh (peace be upon her), held a high scientific and ethical status in the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) family and played a significant role as a trusted narrator in transmitting traditions, particularly reliable reports on the birth of Imam Jawad (peace be upon him). Her accompaniment of the Bani Hashem caravan during the migration of the Imams' descendants to Iran and their settlement in the Dogonbadan area (in southwestern Iran) not only marks a turning point in her life but also regarded as an effective factor in spreading and deepening Shia culture in these regions. Although sources mention her role in preserving the sanctity of the guardianship and her close relationship with Imam Reza (peace be upon him), details of her journey, the manner of her martyrdom, and the full extent of her activities require further extensive research. This study represents a step towards recognising this distinguished lady and clarifying her position in the history of the Imamate and the process of spreading Shiism in Iran.
