Abstract
Mental health, alongside physical health, has always been one of the fundamental concerns of humans throughout history. The first educational message of divine prophets to humanity is worship and servitude to God Almighty. In the Islamic worldview, human existence is made up of both material and immaterial dimensions, and the health of each is dependent on the other and influenced by it. Mental health in this context is defined as balance and overall coherence in all physical and psychological aspects of a person. Islamic teachings outline various factors for ensuring mental health and coping with life challenges and pressures, which can be categorised into beliefs, ethics, and rituals. These factors include prayer, fasting, patience, trust in God, supplication, remembrance, consideration of the impermanence of the world, and belief in eternal life. Additionally, elements such as vitality, joy, having a good spouse, and social support are also proposed at individual, family, and social levels as effective strategies for dealing with psychological stress.Religious beliefs, along with asceticism and detachment from worldly matters while being attached to God, protect a person from worries and anxieties and keep them steady in the face of life's adverse events. This approach ultimately leads to achieving peace of mind and soul. This study, using a descriptive method and referencing reliable specialised sources, scientific-research articles, Quranic verses, and narrations, explains the impact of factors influencing mental health. The results show that among the values and beliefs that play a central role in shaping people's lifestyles, religious beliefs are among the most prominent. Religious practices such as prayer, fasting, supplication and worship, remembrance and mindfulness, gratitude, pilgrimage, and visiting holy sites not only pave the way for salvation and righteousness but also help in overcoming personal and social harms and challenges.
