The effect of guilt on the level of anxiety and hope with emphasis on the narration of Imam Hossein (AS)

Abstract
Sins have many spiritual and psychological effects and consequences that affect human life in the worldly and hereafter.
The two components of anxiety and despair have a special place in the field of mental health as the harms affecting human society, and Islamic doctrine and psychology have provided significant views in this field. From the point of view of Islam, anxiety can be divided into two types, praiseworthy and reprehensible. Guilt can cause an increase in reprehensible anxiety and hinders growth and causes anxiety and mental distress. On the other hand, sin causes a decrease in hope, which is mentioned in the hadiths as despair. This research is based on verses and traditions and psychological science to identify the factors that cause anxiety and despair and the effect of sin.
