Abstract
The Umayyad era is one of the hardest and most difficult periods of Shiite life.In this era, the rulers did not spare any action in suppressing the Shiites, and on the other hand, the Shiites resisted and sacrificed their lives for the survival of their school, and gave many martyrs, many of whom, incidentally, were not on the battlefield. However, both the dimensions and the consequences of the massacre of Shiites outside the battlefield are not known, and no detailed research has been conducted in this regard so far. Therefore, the present study seeks to investigate two issues:first, counting and re-representing some aspects and the extent of killing and harassment of Shiites, especially outside the battlefields, and then addressing the consequences of repression and killing in this era and the damage to Shiites. This research is of developmental type and its method is historical and descriptive-analytical.The method of data collection is library and their collection tools in addition to the library:Internet, software and digital banks are sources and articles related to the early history of Islam and research based on it.The research method also includes the historical method.Findings of the research show that the killing of Shiites by the Benjamiyya had very influential consequences in the political, cultural and economic history of this religion. On the one hand, it was able to help the internal cohesion of the Shiites, but on the other hand, it marginalized them in the field of society, in the field of culture,it helped to develop piety and esotericism, and in the field of economy, it weakened their economic strength.
