Imam Khomeini has assigned a special role in the field of political thought with his insight and ability to master the ideas of pure Muhammadan Islam and by using them in explaining the Islamic government and the position of the religious authority in the modern era. Before the Islamic revolution, it was not even possible to predict that one day the seemingly complicated and autocratic military government of Mohammad Rezashahi would fall and thus enter the dustbin of history. Domestic and foreign theorists, each from their own point of view, have investigated the causes and factors of the victory of the revolution. However, without a comprehensive and coherent analysis of Shia political thoughts, especially the school of Ashura and the doctrine of Mahdism, and its presentation in the form of the discourse of Islamic jurisprudence and governance in the age of occultation, it is not possible to interpret the Islamic Revolution correctly and comprehensively. . The author of this study considers the great event of the revolution to be due to the political thoughts of Imam Khomeini (RA) and his main intellectual school, the school of Islam (Ashura and Mahdism) and seeks to prove it. Based on this, it is clear and obvious that he does not believe in superficial and cross-sectional factors for the victory of the revolution. The author sees the most important foundations and intellectual bases of Shia in the occurrence of the Islamic revolution and its victory in three main components: 1) the age of occultation and the position of religious authority. 2) the illegitimacy of political power (the Shah's regime) 3) the negation of the ruling power.
