Abstract
The nice tradition of consecration as one of the valuable legacies of the Islam religion, has always been the focus of Iranians. however, it seems that little research has been done on this valuable tradition. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the attitude of the pilgrims to the holy shrine of Ahmad ben Musa al-Kazem Shahcheragh (PBUH) towards the nice tradition of consecration. In this research, which was conducted by survey method and using a questionnaire, 137 pilgrims (94 women with an average age of 31.07 years and 42 men with an average age of 38.23 years) were selected through available sampling and were investigated. Data analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics methods (one-sample t-test) indicated that among pilgrims, there is a positive attitude towards consecration. In addition, the study of pilgrims' priorities for the allocation of consecration income showed that they prefer helping the deprived and orphans, building school, helping young couples (marriage, employment, providing dowry, housing, etc.). In the study of ways to increase the tendency towards the tradition of consecration, increasing awareness of the worldly and hereafter effects of consecration, broadcasting serials and television programs related to consecration, forming associations of consecrations, and honoring and appreciating the consecrations, were among the suggestions of pilgrims. In general, the findings of the research confirmed that the attitude of the pilgrims towards the consecration is positive; however, more awareness can increase the tendency to consecration.
